Jon McGough joined the Office of the General Counsel in 2019, and primarily represents the university, its hospitals and clinics, medical schools, and other health professional schools on health care issues. 

Before joining the office, Jon was a Managing Attorney for the Texas Tech ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ Office of General Counsel from 2013 until 2018.  Prior to his time with the Texas Tech ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ ÐÓ°É´«Ã½, Jon was an Associate ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ Attorney for East Carolina ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ where he primarily represented the Brody School of Medicine, and an Associate General Counsel for the ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ of North Texas ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ where he primarily represented the ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth. 

Jon received his bachelor’s degree in history from Texas Tech ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ in 1995 and graduated from the Texas Tech ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ School of Law in 1998.
